Collard Greens with Bacon

Instructions

  • Fry the bacon in a large heavy – bottomed pot over medium heat until just done.  
  • Add collards, water, salt, pepper and sugar, bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and cook for 1 ½ hours.
  • Add Pepper Vinegar to your taste!

Ingredients

  1. 2 Large Bundles of Collards – remove stems and chop into 2-inch squares
  2. 6 slices of Bacon
  3. 4 cups of Water
  4. 1/3 cup Sugar
  5. 1 TBSP Salt
  6. ¼ TSP White Pepper
  7. Pepper Vinegar
